Double Titles in Fargo Show Virginia is Leading the Way in Growing Beach Wrestling When Team Virginia coaches asked wrestlers in Fargo who wanted to add the beach wrestling showcase event to their regular 16U/Jr. Nationals experience, hands went up all over the room. Using the motto “Sand time IS Mat time”, team Virginia athletes jumped at the chance to get more matches against top level national competition. The results were….. golden. In the women’s showcase, Team Virginia entered thirteen wrestlers. This was second only to reigning champs Team Arizona who had fifteen girls entered. Nine Virginia ladies made the finals of their respective weight, leading the VAWA team to victory over runner-up Team Georgia and third place team Arizona. A Ton of Tour Events, plus US Beach Nationals Highlight Busy August Schedule The 2024 USA Beach Wrestling Tour of America kicks into high gear in the month of August, with multiple stops across the US, including the 2024 USA Beach Nationals in Huntington Beach, California. The month kicks off with two tour favorites. The Kentucky Beach Open in Louisville, Kentucky has been a favorite tour stop from the beginning, with a unique venue and great awards (including prize money for senior level winners). Its a sure bet that some of Kentucky’s wrestling thoroughbreds will be looking to pick up prizes and points at this event. Beach Tour Returns To Fargo

Top 16U/Jr Wrestlers compete this week Fargo, ND- A record 167 Junior and 16U girls entered the 3rd annual Fargo Summer Showcase and 16U/Junior Beach Nationals at Gastropub Volleyball. They represented a record 33 states, which brought athletes to compete in the sand. Virginia won the women’s team title with 52 points, edging runner-up Georgia with 50 points. Tied in third were 2023 champion Arizona and Utah, both with 42 points. For complete details on the women’s competition, CLICK HERE. Men’s competition takes place Thursday morning beginning at 9:00 AM. This is the 4th stop on the 2024 Tour of America Series, with several remaining stops including USA Beach Nationals in Huntington Beach, CA. August 17th.

2024 Beach Wrestling Tour Of America Is Set!

New Stops Join Familiar Faces! The list of 2024 USA Beach Wrestling Tour of America events is now set, and this year’s series sees several new stops joining some of the original tour events. Participants will earn points at each stop along the series. NEW for 2024 any wrestler who participates in at least two tour events during the season will have any points earned at the 2024 Beach Nationals doubled! Iowa has been a beach wrestling tour stop from the beginning, but this year the Iowa event moves to Independence, Iowa July 3rd. Independence hosts one of the most exciting 4th of July celebrations in America, and beach wrestling will add even more excitement this year. USA Approves World Team Selection Criteria

How to Represent Team USA in this year’s International Beach Wrestling Events Colorado Springs, CO.- USA Wrestling’s board of directors have approved the selection criteria for this year’s international beach wrestling events. The board met during the recent U.S. Open to discuss the growth of beach wrestling and make provisions for world team selection. Here are the current procedures: 2024 BEACH WRESTLING TEAMS PROCEDURES  2024 U17 AND U20 BEACH WORLD TEAM SELECTION  The qualifying event for the 2024 U.S. Beach World Teams competing in the U17 and U20 Beach World  Championships will be the Carolina Beach Nationals in Carolina Beach, N.C., May 11, 2024.  There are up to three spots in each weight class for the USA team at the U17 Beach Worlds and the U20 Beach  Worlds.   The team selection priority will be the following for each event:  1.
