2025 Tour Taking Shape

US Beach Wrestling Has Never Been Hotter! GET READY!!!! The 2025 USA Beach Wrestling Tour of America is starting to take shape as organizers and event planners are putting together what promises to be the best season of USA Beach Wrestling to date! Some events are already known. They include the season kickoff May 10th in the “birthplace” of US Beach Wrestling…historic Carolina Beach, NC. Also returning for 2025 will be the Independence Day Beach Party July 3 in Independence, Iowa (the MOST AMERICAN PLACE EVER FOR BEACH WRESTLING!). Fargo, North Dakota will also be back on the docket as part of the 16U/Jr National Championships July 10-19. Beauperthuy Strikes GOLD In Rio!

US Nets Three Medals At University World Beach Games Rio de Janeiro, Brazil– U.S. Beach Wrestling athletes returned from Rio with a handsome haul of hardware from the 2024 FISU University World Beach Games. Tyson Beauperthuy lead the way, earning a gold medal in the 90KG weight class. Beauperthuy finished the competition 3-0, with a win over Brazilian Thales Reis Alves in the final round to secure his first place finish. Wayne Lamont dropped a heartbreaking first round bout to Brazil’s Elivaldo Costa, but rebounded with two strong wins including a final round victory over Argentina’s Maximo Cabrera to earn a silver medal for the US squad. 2024 FISU World University Beach Games Kick Off In Rio

Team USA Looks to Make a Splash In this Year’s Competition Rio de Janeiro, Brazil– Opening ceremonies get underway today in Rio for the 2024 FISU World University Beach Games. Beach wrestling will compete alongside volleyball, handball, and soccer in this global celebration of sand sports. Team USA’s delegation boasts six members, including one coach/team leader, one official, and four athletes. Veteran Beach Wrestling national champion Gabe Beauperthuy has traded competition for coaching this season. He brings a wealth of experience in international competitions in several disciplines including beach, belt, grappling, and MMA. Based in Colorado Springs, Beauperthuy has not only competed at the highest levels, but now trains some of the most successful beach wrestlers in the country including national champions Kyle Ferriter and Tyson Beauperthuy. Virginia Beach Celebrates Sand Champs

Joe Boone X-Travaganza Brings a Close to Successful Beach Season in Virginia Virginia Beach Field house– The next to last stop on the 2024 Tour of America was a celebration, as Virginia honored their recent national titles earned in Fargo earlier in July. Event organizers presented VAWA Beach Director Frank Lipoli and members of the 16U/Jr. National Champions with plaques, t-shirts, and commemorative event posters from the event where both Virginia’s men’s and women’s teams were crowned as Fargo Showcase Champions. Following the pre-event festivities, a great evening of beach wrestling action ensued, with wrestlers from Virginia, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey taking part. Virginia’s own Vollie Hollands picked up both a 1st and 2nd place finish as a double entry into the senior men’s 80kg and 90kg divisions, while Emily Thomas of Virginia was the senior women’s champion

Texas Tour Stop Delivers The Heat

Corpus Christi Welcomes Beach Wrestling to the Lone Star State Corpus Christi, Tx– They say everything is bigger and Texas. And the Texas wrestling community set out to prove that statement true in their first ever beach wrestling event held in the state. McGee Beach proved to be the prefect setting for USA Texas’ inaugural beach wrestling event, with over eighty participants from six different states taking part. The sand was hot, but the beach wrestling action was even hotter, as wrestlers of all ages competed for the title of Texas Open Champion. Texas USA Vice Chair Jose Delgado commended the event staff and local volunteers on pulling together to produce a top notch event.
