Beach Nationals Champion Adds to Medal Haul
Figueira da Foz, Portugal– 2026 US Beach National Champion Tyson Beauperthuy was the United State’s lone entry in this year’s FISU World Beach Games, and he made the most of the opportunity. Beauperthuy earned a silver medal in this year’s competition, defeating opponents from Brazil and Portugal in preliminary rounds.
Beauperthuy then dropped a tough 2-0 decision to Traian Capatina of Moldova. Capatina was the 2024 Silver medalist at 90kg in the Beach Wrestling World Series.
Beauperthuy’s silver medal adds to his already impressive beach wrestling resume, which includes a gold medal from the 2024 World University Games Beach as well as his 2025 and 2026 gold medals at the USA Beach Wrestling Championships.
In addition to his success in the sand, Beauperthuy has earned a silver medal at the 2025 Pan-Am Games in Greco-Roman Wrestling, as well as a gold ,mdal at the USA U23 Championships in Greco-Roman.
