Beach Season Heats Up!

September is Jam Packed with Domestic AND International Action!

Beaches, USA- After a huge month of hot sand and even hotter beach wrestling action across the country, things are only set to get even wilder in September!

AUGUST RECORDS!

August saw a record number of events from coast to coast, with events in Washington and Oklahoma still on tap for the final weekend of the month. Perhaps the highlight of the month came in Huntington Beach, California as a record crowd of over two hundred and eighty participants from twenty-two states sent the sand flying in style at the California Beach Nationals and World Team Qualifier.

They included current team member Brian Coll of New York, legendary world medalist for Team USA Jeff Funicello of Arizona, and reigning world champion Eliana Bommarito of Michigan. Also competing were several well-known Ju-jitsu and Sumo athletes as well as many veteran scrapers returning to competition after years of “retirement”.

SUNNY SEPTEMBER AHEAD

Looking ahead to September its easy to get even more excited as 2025 Tour of America stops land in Washington State, California, Nashville, and New Orleans. Some like the NoCal Championships in Pacifica, CA are returning and well-established events, while others like the Nashville Sand Storm and NOLA Beach Bash bring new flavor to the tour schedule.

There is also excitement in the air as the Beach Wrestling World Series returns with a two huge events this month. September 6-7 sees the tour return to Africa with an exciting stop in Casablanca, Morocco. Team USA will be sending five men and three women to represent in this important event that will set the stage for the final push to the championships in October. Age group world titles will also be on the line later in September as the tour returns to Katerini, Greece September 25-28. The United States will field one of its largest teams ever for this event, and expect to send a full senior team to the final stop in Alexandria Egypt later in October.
