Fargo Summer Showcase Expands

Sophomore Event Increases Participation, Awareness Fargo, ND- Each July Fargo, North Dakota transforms into THE epicenter of American wrestling. Coaches, officials, and the nation’s best wrestlers come together for what has become a celebration of wrestling each summer. For the second year in a row, the Beach Wrestling Tour of America has been part of the “Fargo Experience”, with turnout and interest increasing substantially from year one. This year’s showcase kicked off on Friday night with athletes from the local North Dakota teams and a smattering of other states competing in 8U-14U and Senior/ Masters division competition. Tech Team wrestling club was the star of the show, with twenty athletes competing. 16U and Junior women combined for competition on Sunday afternoon with triple the number of entries from last years event inaugural event. Tour Heats Up In Louisville

KY Beach Open Winners Will Leave a Little Richer Louisville, KY- The 2nd edition of the Kentucky Beach Open promises to be another exciting event this year, with even larger prize offerings to the senior division winners. Last year’s stop saw exciting competition in the unique indoor/outdoor 6-pak Volleyball facility, located just minutes from the world famous Churchill Downs race track. Expect even more excitement this year as prize offerings for the senior divisions have been expanded. The Kentucky Beach Open is the 3rd stop on the 2023 USA Beach Wrestling Tour of America. Wrestle-Offs Highlight 2nd Tour Of America Stop

Iowa State Championships will also host wrestle offs for ANOC World Beach Games Rathbun Lake, Iowa- Iowa is no stranger to HUGE wrestling events! This weekend, the Iowa Beach Wrestling State Championships will add to that list as Iowa crowns beach wrestling state champions for the 1st time, as well as hosting special wrestle-offs for the 2023 ANOC World Beach Games. The Kraken Tournament was a big hit in its inaugural year last year, drawing nearly 100 wrestlers from five states. Competitors were treated to a day of hot weather as well as hot wrestling action. This year the 2023 ANOC World Beach Games will take place August 5th-12th in Bali, Indonesia, with Beach wrestling taking place August 10-11. Beach Tournaments are COMING to a Beach NEAR YOU!! There’s growth, and then… there’s EXPLOSIVE growth! The Tour of America has helped create a hunger for beach wrestling events that is translating in to more events than ever popping up around the country! Numerous states are adding state championship events to their summer/fall schedules, including states like Virginia, California, Oregon, and many more. World Beach Games are on the Line in Final Qualifier This story is from Gary Abbott at USA Wrestling– The final stop on the road to Bali for the 2023 ANOC World Beach Games is set for this weekend, and the stakes are high for the five U.S. athletes competing this weekend. The USA will field a small but experienced team for the second United World Wrestling Beach World Series event of 2023, set for Singapore, June 10-11. All five U.S. athletes competing in Singapore have wrestled in a number of Beach World Series events and are among those with world rankings at the Senior level in Beach Wrestling.
