2024 Beach Wrestling World Series Kicks Off With Pan-Am Championships
Acapulco, Mexico– A veteran team of US Athletes will travel South in a few weeks to represent Team USA in the first stop of the 2024 Beach Wrestling World Series. The 2024 Beach Wrestling World Series kicks off with a stop in one of Mexico’s most famous beach destinations and promises to be another breakout year for Team USA.
Coach Timmy Box will oversee the first contingent of US Athletes to hit the sand this spring, which will include 2023 80kg World bronze medalist Ty Loethen. Loethen enjoyed one of the most successful seasons ever for an American beach wrestler in 2023, and is poised to challenge for a World Title this season.
Joining Loethen will be fellow 2023 World Team member Justin Benjamin, who begins the season ranked 9th at 70kg. Another beach veteran joining Loethen will be Mike Clark. Clark last competed in the 2022 World Series, and has been a strong promoter and teacher of beach wrestling in his hometown of Louisville, Kentucky. He is eager to make a successful return to the beach scene in 2024 and joins Benjamin as a tough draw at 70kg.
The final team member for the series kickoff is defending 90+ National Champion Kyle Ferriter of Colorado Springs. Ferriter has competed in domestic beach events as far back as 2019 with great success. He also brings impressive Jiu-Jitsu and Sumo credentials with him in addition to his wrestling background. Despite his lack of international beach experience, Kyle will be a force to be reckoned with in the Heavyweight category.
Action gets underway March 2 with preliminary action. Finals will take place March 3rd. Be sure to follow Team USA as they look to make waves in this year’s World Series !
